How do you create your characters? Do you base them off real people, other fictional characters (from games, movies, etc.), or are they totally original?

When i make a character I base the personality on people I know but the backgrounds are made up.

The only original character is Katie. Everyone else is based on a character. Greg is basically Clay from The Losers except younger (he's 28) with a little bit of Spike Spiegel mixed in (his cigarette habits and marksmanship comes from Spike). Ares is Mickey Rourke from Domino with Rambo's bowie knife. Rocco is Rocco from The Boondock Saints but with a crew cut, pencil mustache, lazy eye, drinking problem, and whiny attitude. Johnny is Carlos from Resident Evil: Apocalypse but greek, multi lingual, and loves ZZ Top.

Some of my personalities are mixed people, like chief is a mix between 2 peoples personailities. Todd is a mix of 2. lynn is one person. Will is all original. My somali bad guy is original.

Who's Lynn based on?

I based them all on people I know personally. Nobodys from media really, except the bad guys and mercs have traits of similar types in other movies.

I can be surfing the web or watching a movie, see some random person, and instantly have an idea for a new character. Hell, yesterday I was cruising DeviantArt, saw a pic of a cosplayer in an awesome Huntress costume, and instantly had an idea for a superhero. And I haven't written a superhero story since 2001 when the WTC attacks sort of slapped me into reality, making the superheroes and supernatural martial artists defending earth from aliens just feel...unimportant.

I'm going to change Cooper's main weapon from a Heckler & Koch G3A4K to a Heckler & Koch G36K with an AG36 grenade launcher. Ares will take this off of him when he's killed (Katie also takes one of his Glock 17's).

Greg, Ares, and Johnny meet each other through their service in the South African Army. Katie meet Greg after his service when he stop a carjacking that involved her. Rocco join the crew after he was layed off by his employers at a Chevrolet plant and atempted to mug Greg.

On second thought, Greg should be played by Elijah Wood. Jim and Mila have a fifteen year age difference, but Elijah and Mila only have a three year age difference (let's just hope Elijah knows how to shoot a gun).
