Generally, that's the idea, but I can't manipulate the hammer without it seeming to drift from down range towards my front.

are you using strong or support thumb? You should use support hand thumb. I do so and dont need to shift aim as strongside keeps gun on target.

Strong. I can't get enough of my strong hand on the gun...much less wrap two hands around a J-Frame without doing a serious saucer grip.
