I've heard nothing but bad things about the AUG, why would anyone want a civilian version?

It's all secondhand information from the internet, but the consensus I've gathered is that the Australians really don't like them.

The problem is its a bullpup, awkward reloads and crappy trigger. The aug has a rep as solidly built though, and the microtec is supposed to have a better trigger and accuracy on par with steyr.

The p210 looks awesome, its supposed to match accuracy of old models, but has a grip mag release, smoother more deliberate safety lever, and a beavertail rehape.

It'll be pricy but made to be a competition gun.

That's just an indictment on bullpups in general, and while many recent bullpups have tried to fix the trigger issue, I don't think there's anything you can do about the reloading issue. That hasn't stopped designers from designing bullpups and forces from adopting them, however.

In terms of specific bullpup designs, however, most of the bad-mouthing I've heard comes at the expense of the SA-80 family.

It's worth noting that Australian spec ops groups, like the British SAS, also use AR-15 type weapons instead of the bullpups that their regular troops use.

My prediction. Mauser is going to bring back the C96 Broomhandle due to popular demand. And it will be priced at $900 MSRP!

Yeah I know it's a pipe dream. Oh well. It's a great fantasy for those of us into the old guns.

Well recently I bought a luger, and it was shit. Jammed on every 230 grain load, even FMJ. I tried 185s, fmj was okay but i had failure to lockback on the last round. There was also a tacky looking eagle on the side i had to dremel off to make the gun look sleeker. I traded it in. Maybe a c96 will be the ticket...

just kidding:D

For a second or two you almost had me until I realized you said 230 grain. Pretty funny.
