The old look really doesnt do anything for me, dont get me wrong, i hate the looks of glocks and such, but things about the 1911 get me, like the finish, and i like a little contrast in colors. Also, when a 1911 is decked out, it looks "mean."

IMHO you can't beat a pre-1917 Colt commercial production 1911 for looks.

I agree with Predator on that one. But just recently my dad got a perfect condition GI issue .45 from 1942 in the shop. It was never issued but was intended for use during WWII. It was beautiful. My dad gave it a three pound trigger instead of the awful 8lb one it had and I was impressed. The retail for it is 2,500 dollars. :eek:

I prefer flat to arched mainspring housing.

Ive only held arched, all the shooting is with flat, but it looks neater. The arched looks out of place.
