Edit: It looks like his gun in Marked For Death

We need to save those pics to use on the page.

Another one of his.

Regardless of how you feel about his musical tastes, that would be very fucked up.

I've been having a little bit of bad luck the past few days
  • I aggravated my pinched nerve
  • I damn near broke my toe
  • My net keeps going out
  • I haven't been able to sleep

and now I've misplaced the nice Italian leather belt my father gave me

I just caught a couple minutes of Entertainment Tonight on my DVR following last night's Nikita and apparently one of the members of SEAL Team 6 was on there...

Or...just ignore him and let him go through the phase. He'll get past it once he realizes that acting gangsta won't earn you "respect", as I learned 10 years ago (and as I continue trying to teach Zulu, to no avail). Plus, one can still listen to rap without wanting to act black. My gym/running playlist has David Banner, Flo Rida, and Three-6 Mafia songs, and I still listen to Lupe Fiasco. But because I no longer feel the need to adopt other people's identities as my own (or piss off my parents), I can just listen to rap without wanting to act gangsta.

Also, I had no idea there were still wiggers, in 2011? I figured that trend would have exhausted itself by now.

The fast beats of some rap songs pump you up for a workout. But the gangsta rap culture pisses me off.

Yeah, it's hard not to think about the negative cultural influence of rap whenever one listens to it. If rappers didn't keep trying to pass themselves off as real "gangstas" and blurring the lines between fantasy and reality (carrying guns, getting into "beefs" on record that lead to people actually getting shot), it might be easier to enjoy the music.

My attitude towards rap is that you just have to listen to it the way you would watch a gangster movie or play "GTA IV". When you do that, it can be great entertainment. Some rappers actually are really good at conveying vivid, cinematic imagery through their lyrics, and I dare say that some of them have skill with words that is easily on par with poetry. Plus, it's the only genre where the lyrics make references to gun brand names - that's always nice.

Also, if anyone wants to hear some really good rap, I recommend checking out 4th25 ("Fourth Quarter"). The rappers are all enlisted U.S. soldiers who are rapping about what it's like to serve in Iraq (and it's all based on their personal experience of being out on deployment). A good example of somebody doing something really cool and interesting with the genre - it's like a narrative war documentary put to hip-hop beats.
