He personally kicked the shit out of dozens of enemies, and caused AIs to kill themselves on four separate occasions. Picard on the other hand is a 60 year old man with arthritis, an ugly ship and an artificial heart. And of course Kirk had a better crew: Leonard Nimoy, James Doohan, George Takei, Walter Koenig, DeForest "Fucking" Kelley and Nichelle Nichols. Kirk never needed a Klingon. He never needed a counsellor. He had a Vulcan with emotional issues, a doctor who swore the whole time, a miracle worker, an asian helmsman with a specialisation in fencing, a Russian navigator and a lady with an extremely short skirt. That's just how badass Kirk was.
