Well it has been awhile.

Visited a museum in a neighboring town the day before yesterday and they had quite a few firearms on display, including an M1903A1, Krag-Jorgenson, Colt Dragoon, Remington Rolling Block, and Sharps and Spencer carbines, among others. The 1903 was much shorter than I expected it to be.

Speaking of cats and cheeseburgers, my cat once tried to eat a cheeseburger a brought home from work (I work at Culber's, and they give me an employee discount for food).

So when I fucked up my back and ended up with nerve damage, thought I was going to never be able to shoot pistols as well as I was used to, but I went to the range the other day with my 686-5 + Stocking Dealer Special and outshot the two people with me, and the guy next to us at the range. The folks I were with had .22 rifles (Marlin Model 60 and a Ruger 10/22), and the guy next to us had a tricked out custom AR with an Aimpoint. Makes me feel kind of hopeful, you know? I just need to practice more now that my hands don't shake like they used to

I bought a spare Bianchi 7301 Speedloader Pouch off Amazon for 20 bucks, and apparently it was old stock and made in the USA. At some point, Bianchi moved its manufacturing south of the Border to Mexico, and everything I've ever bought from them has said as such, except this precious little pouch which will now be part of my EDC. It's noticeably better built than the Mexican one is too, granted the Mexican one has worked flawlessly nearly every day since I've bought it. Still, I got super lucky and now I have a good American made speedloader pouch. Just in time before I upgrade my pocket gun to something that isn't a revolver. Oh well.

My cat killed a rabbit and left it's remains (mainly its guts and head) on the porch.

Why can't she kill mice? They leave less of a mess to clean up.

Honestly, the store side of it wasn't run very well, and they don't really give you much time to get established before there's pressure to start making your numbers. I imagine they might be letting some other people go, too. They fired a guy that made them $75,000 this year, for like a 3 week dip in sales, right as I was coming in. The only guy I saw making sales was swiping them from others or just selling to his friends

Ugh. I have about ten years to go before I retire and I'm looking at working part-time at one of the local LGS afterwards. Here's hoping they're not all like that.
