I missed a whole day of reading 1984 in English, yet I am somehow farther than everybody else

1984 sucked, i know its considered a classic because of the message but it was unbelievable and full of uninteresting characters i didnt care about.

I'm required to read it, so why not just get it over with and then do whatever the hell I want to while everybody else is catching up?
