Swordfish941 06-30-2010 07:12 PM

Any suggestions?

k9870 06-30-2010 07:14 PM

Cant think of any, and i dont have ideas for the merc crew i came up with.

Swordfish941 06-30-2010 07:29 PM

I meant the actor to play Greg.

k9870 06-30-2010 07:30 PM

Dont know, jim caviezel was a good idea,

Swordfish941 06-30-2010 09:59 PM

I'd probably want Michael Chiklis or Steve Austin to play Van Zyl. And also Idris Elba as the Somali enforcer.

YES!

My mental image of van Zyl is this, though:

Jesse Ventura FTW!

S&Wshooter 07-01-2010 12:01 AM

Vinnie Jones would be a little better than Steve Austin though

Swordfish941 07-01-2010 12:04 AM

What does FTW stand for?

welcome to the internet.
where we make stupid fucking acronyms every day, just to the confuse the public and boggle the minds of children. oh, and we do it just for the hell of it!

k9870 07-01-2010 01:22 AM

For the mercs I made up:

Sean: norman reedus

Mac Diesel: Terry crews

George: dont know

Cooper: dont know

Im open to suggestions. Geroge is a lazy chopper pilot kicked out of the U.S. Navy when he popped positive on a drug test, doesnt take radio coms seriously and is always getting high when not on a mission,

Cooper is an abnoxious southerner who grew up doing petty crime, served 4 years to avoid jail then left to become a merc. he always makes racist jokes about macdiesel and sean and everyone hates him.

Swordfish941 07-01-2010 05:22 AM

I was thinking of Norman Reedus as Sean.

k9870 07-01-2010 11:56 AM

thats a good idea, ill change it

k9870 07-01-2010 02:15 PM

I just have trouble coming up with a cooper or george character.

Swordfish941 07-01-2010 02:17 PM

What do you mean by that?

k9870 07-01-2010 02:48 PM

an actor who would play them.

Swordfish941 07-01-2010 03:26 PM

How about Russell Brand for Cooper.

k9870 07-01-2010 03:34 PM

dont think ive seen him in anything. What has he done for roles?

He was in Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Plus he's playing Trinculo in a movie adaption of The Tempest.

k9870 07-05-2010 06:13 PM

do you have the scene where you introduce everyone written?

Swordfish941 07-05-2010 06:48 PM

As of now I've only introduced Greg, Ares, and Katie. Rocco is mentioned and I'm now writing Johnny's introduction. Anyway, here's the first part of my rewritten draft:

The lonely moon began to vanish in the western sky, but its brother, the sun, was beginning its daily cycle. It sparkled on the sea, making it shine like gold. A lone boat floated on it, nearing the Cape of Good Hope. It was an eighty foot PT boat left over from the second World War. Nostromo was its name. Its passengers were mercenaries, returning to Cape Town to relax after finishing a job of taking out a Rwandan warlord. A man walked up on its deck. He was in his late 20's, thin but with strong arms. His hair was colored dark brown and kept in a mullet while his eyes were hazel. He was wearing a pair of denim jeans with a leather belt, and a gray t-shirt. A leather holster was on the right side of his hip, and a Kimber .45 1911 pistol was in it. A cigarette hung from the corner of his mouth. The man's name was Gregory Mallory Archer, or Greg for short.

Greg stared at the horizon, blowing smoke out of his mouth. Watching the sunrise was absolutely beautiful, not like a beautiful women, but like the beauty in nature. It was five o'clock in the morning, and everyone on board was fast asleep in their cabins. Rocco would be in bed, cradling a bottle of Jose Cuervo Gold tequila as if it were his own child. He chuckled at this. Rocco had always promised that he would go cold turkey, yet you could find him trying to get the last few drops out of a liqueur bottle. He was almost as pathetic as a crack whore.

"Well, good morning sunshine." said a beautiful young woman wearing a blue nightgown and a pair of slippers. Her name was Katherine Berkley, but everyone called her Katie. Her hair was light brown and curly, but looked golden against the sun. Her eyes were green as emeralds and her skin had a tannish tone to it. It felt smooth and warm. Her breasts were the size of grapefriuts and any peverted man would lust after her, but not Greg. He had much more respect for her,

k9870 07-07-2010 03:34 AM

Rocco does seem like a mess. Cant wait tot he scene with him and ares.

I had an idea that maybe chief fought in desert storm.

Swordfish941 07-07-2010 08:12 PM

I have an idea that Cooper calls Greg "Boss Man" and Ares "Obie". He also tries to make a pass at Katie (in this case he grabs her buttocks), which she retaliates by stabbing him in the leg. This leads to a stand off between the mercs.

k9870 07-08-2010 12:02 AM

Cooper is an asshole. he would try crap like that.

Swordfish941 07-08-2010 01:10 AM

Did the british actually fought in Desert Storm?

k9870 07-08-2010 01:18 AM

yes, but i think only armored, aerial and special forces units. Maybe chief was a tanker?

Swordfish941 07-10-2010 09:46 AM

I've decided to change Katie's main sidearm to a Beretta 84FS kept in a Vega holster.

Swordfish941 07-11-2010 03:15 AM

I found out that Mickey is alot older than Ares (Rourke is 57 while Ares is around 31 or 32 years old). Can anyone suggest any other actors to play him?

George Clooney!

Swordfish941 07-11-2010 03:35 AM

Let's just hope that Clooney doesn't mind putting on 30 or 35 pounds of muscle and taking up a smoking habit.

k9870 07-11-2010 06:24 PM

you can fake a smoking habit, just have it hanging in your mouth you dont need to drag it into your lungs. And the actors who put on muscle have awesome trainers, who doesnt want to get ripped?

Swordfish941 07-11-2010 08:48 PM

Anyway, can someone suggest an alternative to Mickey Rourke?

Swordfish941 07-17-2010 03:38 PM

I'm having trouble coming up with an idea for the merc's Somoli attire. I want Greg's to be based on Royce's attire in Predators, except the flak jacket is replaced by an olive green Inceptor vest and the pants and shirt have a Woodland camouflage pattern. Do you guys have any other ideas for the other mercs?

k9870 07-17-2010 06:55 PM

Web gear would be cooler in a hot enviroment, but if they want armor a vest would make more sense.

Swordfish941 07-17-2010 10:38 PM

I decided that the Somali Warlord's base of operations would be near Kismaayo.

k9870 07-17-2010 11:04 PM

How are him and his troops armed, and do they have vehicles, aircraft, patrols? You going to have the enforcer in it?

Swordfish941 07-17-2010 11:43 PM

The enforcer is armed with an AKMSU fitted with two magazines taped together "jungle style". Most of the militia is armed with AKM assault rifles. their support weapons are RPK and RPD light machine guns, DShK heavy machine guns mounted on pick-up trucks, and RPG-7 rocket launchers fitted with optical sights. The main sidearms of Militia officers are Tokarev TT-33 pistols. Greg takes a custom Norinco Type 56-1 as a "souvenir" off a dead soldier. It has been fitted with an AKM slant compensator, a SA Vz.58 side folding stock, ribbed receiver cover, and a stamped lower receiver. Benu Kuypers (the Somali Warlord) uses a Zastava M88 fitted with a stainless steel finish and wooden grips when Greg infiltrates his "palace" (which is actually an abandoned house furnished with captured items).

k9870 07-17-2010 11:49 PM

does the enforcer still kill random people for no reason, loot their stuff, and shoot his own men for failure?
