Wait, he was laughing at her as blood was pooring from her face? That's messed up.

The obvious thing to do is to walk over and repay the favor for her. :D

I have no idea what his deal was. I just kept to myself as he was pretty much a big neanderthal-type. I guess he was trying to let her shoot it, but she couldnt. Hell, I cant even fire a .44 without it being ripped from my grip at least once.

Gunmaster45 07-27-2009 01:19 AM

If you grip it right that usually isn't a problem. What type of grip do you use?

Winchester 07-27-2009 01:58 AM

My left over my right. I've only ever fired a .44 twice, i never had a problem with my .45, its just that damn .44

Gunmaster45 07-27-2009 02:49 AM

Oh good, no cup and saucer crap.

When shooting a .44 Mag, you need to adjust your grip slightly. Keep your shooting arm completely straight and push out with it. Pull in with your left hand. Step forward with your non-dominant leg, putting weight on it (your dominant foot should tip slightly at the toes). This is putting most of your body's weight and strength against the recoil. When shooting normal handguns the push-pull technique isn't reccomended (it is extra work), but with a .44 Mag it helps control.

Yea, no. I dont do cup and saucer shit. My grandpa who owns the .44 that i've shot swears by it. I tell him hes been watching too many Dirty Harry movies. lol

But would love to have a revolver that shoots .44 but I don't know if I can handle the recoil.

I tell you what, .357 Magnum is plenty enough large caliber action for me. Without Mr. Eastwood's shining influence, the .44 Magnum would just be another one of those calibers on the shelf next to all the other ones that only Alaskans, fat truckers or dudes with small sacks buy.

Or handgun hunters, target shooters, etc. Its an excellent cartridge.

Winchester 07-27-2009 11:15 PM

I prefer(ed) my .45. Less recoil and i can fire another round than you. :D
