Another zombie game that was kind of bad was Dead Rising. I loved the concept of wandering through the mall and killing as many zombies as I could, but the dumb story kept me on a strict time line. And I couldn't (or didn't care) beat the bosses, so I never completed the story. So I never unlocked the survival mode, which was what really interested me. And only save points in the bathroom? What happened to checkpoints? When I need to stop playing, I can't just search for the bathroom whenever I need to stop, I just need to stop.

I liked Dead Rising okay, but the gunplay was awful.
It was like a worse version of RE4, but with zombies that didn't seem to care.

There was no fear or danger, because the zombies just stood there waiting for you. Even if there were thousands of them, they still just kind of milled around.

The cutscene where the spec-force guys attacked the mall made me grin hugely however.

Well Dead Rising was just a fun game to play. It wasn't meant to be scary or suspenseful, but more of a parody of zombie stories. Try killing a zombie with everything at your disposal.

Did any of you who played Dead Rising notice the "Jill's Sandwiches" food stand?

Really? I totally never noticed that.
That's awesome.
It was a Capcom game though, so not too surprising.

I didn't play it to get scared, I just wanted to kill zombies and the story kept me from doing that, so I didn't like it.

Yeah, it was a nod to Resident Evil's Jill Valentine. It pokes fun at the infamous Barry Burton line, "you were almost a Jill sandwich". And upon closer inspection a description of the restaurant owner "Jill" reveals that "Jill is a master of sandwich making", which also pokes fun at more of Barry's corny dialogue (his line about Jill being the "master of unlocking") from the original Resident Evil.
