The 2 local gun stores near me are now absolutely out of Mosin Nagants. The sniper variants they got are not 400 dollars more. They've got other classic guns, but the prices have been bumped up at least a couple hundred dollars. Even the Jap rifles are a hundred dollars more and there doesn't seem to be any ammo for those either.

Yeah, I have two of my Grandfather's shotguns, an Ithaca '37 and a Remington Sportsman 58. They are both in the grab before pets and small children in case of fire category.

both of my local gun shops are out of Mosins and other assorted Mil-Surps. They lasted for awhile after the intial frenzy, but when the text of the bill came out with the "military features" they went pretty quick.

There is a "truly nice" Winchester Model 12 with a 26" barrel and an English style straight stock in 16 gauge ,"sweet" 16 they used to call it, priced for $300.00. I might be making a return trip tomorrow.

I'm not what you would call a shotgunner, but I like the Model 12. 16 gauge is a bit more than 12 gauge, but it is still made and plentiful. Plus it would make a nice addition to my collection of "old" guns.

So............did you ever go back?

Oh yeah I went.........and it had already sold. So instead I put a Colt Officer's Model Special on layaway. That's the target model with the heavy 6" bull barrel.

Of course, JCordell. I know you're smart enough to also realize that when the Libs take all the EVIL and TACTICAL guns, they won't stop. They'll go after everything, even the nice old stuff (which I like too).

Sure, but that doesn't change the fact that there has been a windfall from all the panicky buying going on. I'm not talking about the politics involved - at least not on this thread.

That's a pretty awesome piece. My LGS has a Government Model in .38 Super for $839.

It is the gun I'm looking for, wood grips, blued, small sights, small slide release and safety, full sized hammer and what not.

Can't decide if it's worth it or not. The gun is in good to excellent condition, and according to my Gun Trader's Guide that price is right between good to excellent.
