yes, I can cycle my semi auto shotguns with super hot blanks, but they crap out after three shots. I can fire the SPAS 12 about 3 times before it jams up. Therefore (like you already said) NOT blank adapting them is not a viable option due to the unacceptable probability of failure during a take...

Funny story about adjustable gas systems, on another gun forum a member who was in some european military said they'd compete with the U.S. switching weapons for fmailirization, and would shoot their own with the gas system set to soft shooting (FN FAL) and then adjust it to kick like a horse when U.S, soldiers fired it, and the U.S. soldiers would be like "hey how were ypu controlling those things!!!!"

We have blanked just about every caliber of Desert Eagles. There is a lot more to it than restricting the bore. We have to relocate the gas port and then plug the barrel with a plug of x length. The Desert Eagle to convert is a science and you better know what you are doing as you only have one chance. After that it a new barrel and you start over again.

How much of a toll does firing blanks take on a gun, especially if you paln on using it when it's done with blanks?

Well it depends on the weapon and the mods. The blank mods usually they don't harm the receiver during the conversion or operation. I have seen some conversions that use blank so hot that they will destroy the receiver over time. If you have someone that knows what they are doing it should be okay. I you plan to go back to live fire again you need to purchase a separate barrel and slide assembly for a hand gun. That way you original can be kept for live and the replacement for the blank conversion. The main thing to do if that you do that is to always check the weapon when you go to shoot live rounds. You don't want to have a blank barrel in when you fire a live round.

Unless you want the gun to blow up. Then it might wear out a little faster :D.

Back in the days of the FN C1 and C2, that used to be a favorite trick to play on the new guys. Espescially with the C2.
