I've been looking for that knife Jason Statham pulled out and flipped open in Expendable to deflate a basketball.

I liked the throwing knives in that movie.

lemme guess. you saw nutnfancy's review on the benchmade 915?

k9870 05-25-2011 02:30 PM

yep. But ive handles many benchmade blades (friend was a huge fanboy and had a bunch) and found the quality great. And my CRKT is a bit big to carry when not on duty, a BDU pocket holds it great but when im out and about i need a smaller blade. The features kick ass too. And i used the nutnfancy gear code for free shipping:) Guy hooks us up with sweet deals a lot.

Cutlerylover reviewed the spyderco. A lot of blade forums swear by it too.

Future knies id like are a kukri, prob cold steel, a large camp blade of some kind, and who knows what else, maybe a dedicated huntin knife.

Back when I started working over a decade ago, I carried a large S&W SWAT knife, but I quickly realized that pulling that out to open a box in an office environment may freak some people out, or lead to me getting fired and/or arrested. I went smaller, and one of the choices, the one I have with me today, is a S&W Pocket Protector. My biggest complaint about is that the thumb stud sticks out too much and pokes into my hand when I put my hands in my pockets. The funny thing is, the thumb stud is also unnecessary, as I just use the thumb hole to open it. I also got a small Gerber Ridge at the same time, and that one lies a lot flatter, and doesn't poke my hand. They're both pretty useful for normal tasks, and won't freak people out.

Right now i am carrying a Big 5 folding knife (I don't remember the exact brand but it was on sale cheap and i needed a couple of folding knives as I broke one). Other than that I've been getting alot of use out of an 18' machete my dad picked up down in LA. Apparently dad came to the US with just a suitcase and no money. he talked his way into a hotel maintenace job in South/Central LA. Someone left a machete and my dad snagged it. I've refurbished the machete once and with the amount of use I'm giving it i might have to do so again sometime soon.

It came Early!

Gonna read some instructions on the spyderco sharpmaker and get to work.

BTW the knife is bigger but better shaped so actually carries better and has more capability.
