As an armourer, I can tell you that 99.9% of the stuff we use are fake and yes actors do break things that can survive the elements of space just by touching it.

It's iffy. His posts seem like they're written by a person, but they're marginally 'off topic' in each thread he posts in. Right now, it's not clear whether or not he's just a bad typist or a bot that is emulating human speech.

look at his profile, it says "man". It seems that if you were to look at the profiles for spammers their "About" says "man", and their location says a simple "US".
