And then me and her now ex-fiance have to take her down or she starts shooting Stingers at airliners.

I mean, that's what biker gangs do right? I saw an episode of Sons of Anarchy once.

Are they gearing up for a deployment to fight the Chechen Separatists?

Hell if I know, but somebody's going to get shot up with a blessed '74

SPEMack618 02-14-2013 05:10 AM

I may be showing some classic "backinmyday" syndrome, but deploying before everyone had the blue uniform, and coming back to everyone having to wear it is sorta surreal.

It's blue....yankee I'm gonna burn your barn down blue.

I have another confession to make: I've never seen Heat, the greatest bank robbery movie of all time.

Well, you better go see it before we start shunning you.

SPEMack618 02-14-2013 08:27 PM

yeah, even I broke down and went out and bought it on DVD, it came packaged with Goodfellas for ten bucks.

However, at Wally World presently, they have Heat, by itself for three dollars!

Apparently there's now a porn parody of Act of Valor. What is this world coming to? :(

Well, I finally loaded some new .380s for my sister. And realized I'm now out of small pistol primers.

Argh.

Another conversationg from the Mack household...

Big Sister: (having been gone for a couple of days on business) Mack, what's that big Air Force plane called?
Me: (absently) B-52?
BS: No, it's a transport.
Me: C-130?
BS: No, it's a jet.
Me: C-5?
BS: Maybe, but more numbers.
Me: C-17?
BS: That's it. I flew into Atlanta on one of those today.
Me: What? How?
BS: Work. (in tone that implied, that, yes, indeed my big sister has a higher security clearance than I do)

Fuck yeah! Wow, that wasn't exactly in accordance with the Scout Law, but I digress.

Good deal, man.

The Allison T56 A-15 turboprop is technically jet engine, so by extension, the C-130 would classify as a jet aircraft.

You probably know this already, but just saying.

You know, actually, conceptually I have never thought of a turbo-prop as a jet engine.

But, thinking back to my CAP days, I obviously see where you are correct.

Well played.

Being in the Army, when I see a spinny thing in the front, I classify it as propeller driven. lol

Aw, it looks like Swamp People won't be filming in Fannett; they just sent a pair of guys from Fannett (one of which, Harlan "Bigfoot" Hatcher, is a friend of my father's) up to Louisiana

I believe I have just seen the most stupidly tacticool thing ever.

To get you through the one minute of OPERATOR OPERATOR at the start, it's an ad for this:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...psb61f61e8.jpg

Because, you know, the military has a lot of uses for square .22LR pistols.

Also saw this, a real-life Frankengun:

Which I imagine is the happiest Sten there ever was.

S&Wshooter 02-26-2013 04:55 AM

Fuuuuuck, I cut a big chunk of skin out of my left thumb on accident. Not deep enough to draw blood, but it looks messed up.

I've already gotten to handle one and not only is it a Square pistol but it's unreliable, unsafe and the best way to shoot it is with your left hand, pulling the trigger with your middle finger. The guy who handed it to me acted like a DI handing the training platoon clutz his first live grenade.

Evil Tim 02-26-2013 08:40 AM

Yeah, it's almost like the human hand isn't that shape or something. Maybe it plugs into the end of your Tier 1 operator cyborg battle-arm.

edit: oh it gets better

Didn't you always want a totally unergonmic fake bullpup stock with a "secret storage compartment" so your .22 LR lego brick needs an SBR license?

edit 2: hahaha they trademarked the word operator what is wrong with these people

SPEMack618 02-26-2013 04:24 PM

Put a .22 pistol under your .22 rifle. All the operators are doing it.

In other news, in this month's "American Rifleman", there was an article about the M-1895 Colt MGs used by the Rough Riders. Come to find out, one of them was purchased by the big sister of one of the volunteers from New York. Obviously, they were from a prominent family.

I'm severly tempted to highlight that portion of the article and tape it to my sister's mirror.

I think that's the only two handed firearm I've seen where you pull the trigger with your front hand.
Or, I guess that thing behind it is a place for your off(?) hand. This thing is confusing. Aliens are trying to sell us their guns for some reason.

Just discovered Duffel Blog. Loving it:

http://www.duffelblog.com/

Particularly enjoyed this one:

http://www.duffelblog.com/2013/01/mi...confiscations/

Quote:

While there was initially some concern about the constitutionality of using the military on American soil, page 2131 of the ObamaCare Act actually amends the Posse Comitatus law to allow the military to disarm private citizens at the direction of the Secretary of Homeland Security. Objections by then-CIA Director David Petraeus were quietly silenced in November.

A test-run for PREAKNESS was actually conducted in early December in Clinger, PA. A joint platoon of Army Rangers and UN Peacekeepers, working with select state and local officials and using imagery collected by the Google Street View Car, quietly went door-to-door and managed to collect all the firearms from Clinger owners.

The few owners who did complain were initially transported to Fort Leavenworth in Kansas to explain their case before a special international tribunal, before being sent to the National Center For Gun Control in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
I realize not everyone on here shares my views on gun control and conspiracy theories regarding gun control, but I think it's still an entertaining read regardless.

SPEMack618 03-08-2013 01:29 AM

Dude, as an inspiring AF intel guy, I thought you were already aware of DuffelBlog.

It falls under my daily read category.

I particularly enjoyed the USS Constitution having to deploy to patrol off Somalia and the effectiveness of the new NWU being so good that it is impeeding SAR efforts after man over board drills.

Yeah, I should have been. Shame on me. :( :D

It's a pretty new site, though, isn't it? Wikipedia says it was only started in March of 2012. To me, that's not too long ago.

I joined a new forum, and if I keep finding members that live in my area, I'm starting a club/group/gang
