I watched the new Law and Order tonight. It's the first ep, so I'm willing to give it a little leeway, but Skeet Ulrich is really wooden. Like, Keanu Reeves-wooden. The other cop (the bald one) seems much more interesting. And I have a hard time taking the female ADA seriously, considering the only other roles I've seen her in have been in the Scary Movie series. Alfred Molina is really good though. And they did away with the voiceover in the beginning ("In the criminal justice system...") and the sound ("Dum dum!")

It used to be that school nurses could actually be nurses. Now we have situations where teenage girls are being strip searched by school administrators over advil.

"I do not like it, therefore I will use the power of government to get rid of it, I fear it and do not understand it, therefore I will have laws written so I can pretend that it will go away." This of course leads to all sorts of ludicrous interpretations of poorly written laws that were not good ideas in the first place, and thus liberty erodes.

Banning cocaine has nothing to do with being allowed an asprin. Its probably a liability thing, like said, like a school getting in trouble for giving a medicine somebodys allergic too.

Why do you think trafficking drugs is worthy of execution? Bangladesh, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Laos, Malaysia, North Korea, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, United Arab Emirates, Zimbabwe. These are the countries that execute people for selling drugs. They still have drug problems in these countries, the laws don't work there either. Are you telling me you want to live in a country like Indonesia?

That's also a liability issue.

Zero tolerance policies prohibit you from having any drugs anywhere on school property. So no, even if you could go back out to the parking lot, you'd still get in trouble. Your dad might even get in trouble for what they may phrase as "enabling delinquent behavior".
