MY mind wandered to the subject of "kickass desserts" earlier and now I want some buttermilk pie or a slice of Mille-Feuille

I'm going to have to make the damn pie myself if I want to have any, so that's out of the question

For the Mille-Feuille, I have to go to that goddamn French restaurant down the road, and I hate going in there because the staff are a bunch of douches

S&Wshooter 03-05-2012 05:37 AM

Ruger Speed Six .38 in the sock drawer = instant sense of safety (despite it being unloaded) due to the fact that I've been shooting it since I was 7 and it is my favorite non-S&W revolver

off to mass effect's midnight release

I was extremely surprised when I found out that Luke friggin' Skywalker voiced the Joker.

S&Wshooter 03-08-2012 04:43 AM

I just noticed that I not only got the page-flip for page 500, but I also got the 5,000th post in the thread. What are the odds?

SPEMack618 03-08-2012 05:10 AM

Perhaps you should invest in a new hobby.....:D

BlackIce_GTS 03-08-2012 05:16 AM

Well, there are ten posts on a page, so the odds are 1 in 1.
I went back and checked, you also have post 4000 on page 400.

I had not counted the number of posts per page, so I did not know this

That's kind of neat, though

Meh. I'm usually logged on because I keep a tab for this forum open when I am using the internet, which I do with all the forums I am on, so I can check it while other pages are loading or I want to take a break

SPEMack618 03-08-2012 05:59 AM

Yeah, like right now I'm working on two term papers and sporadically reading about various guns.

(I want a 1076 something fierce)

Spartan198 03-09-2012 02:00 AM

All this "KONY 2012" business is pissing me off. The world got all butthurt over the invasion of Iraq to get Saddam, are still crying their eyes out because ST6 put two rounds in bin Laden's head instead of "arresting" him, and again got butthurt over the air campaign in support of the Libyan rebels against Gadhafi, but now everyone seems to be united and determined to put an end to whatever this Joseph Kony is doing all over some stupid little Youtube video.

How is this guy any more evil than Saddam, bin Laden, or Gadhafi?

S&Wshooter 03-09-2012 02:57 AM

The HS 1911 is gone

This weekend, it shall be replaced by either a S&W Model 39 or Model 10

SPEMack618 03-09-2012 03:21 AM

The model 10 is a good piece.

I'm hoping Collector's Firearms still has the Model 39. It's a bit harder to get one than it is to get a Model 10

predator20 03-09-2012 04:58 AM

I like my Model 10, but a 39 would be cool.

I saw one in great condition a couple years back at a local gun store for, get this, 250 bucks. Came really close to convincing my parents to buying it for that ridiculous price but I decided against it since it wasn't anything I'd want in a pistol outside collection use. If it had been a 59 I may have gone for it just for the double stack magazine, but not for a single if it were to be my only 9mm pistol. Grips weren't original either.

Pachmayr grips, but I could care less

They have this, too

S&Wshooter 03-09-2012 06:23 AM

The more I read up on the 459, the more I like it

Except for what is being said about the ergonomics

Yournamehere 03-09-2012 06:42 AM

I handled one not too long ago in a local store. The grip was okay for my smaller sized hands, but a far cry from say a SIG grip. The decocker is the same as any S&W slide mounted, but the trigger should pull pretty damn well if it's as good as the other second gens I've handled, and it feels pretty light in hand without being Glock light, about the same weight as a P226 I'd say while remaining a bit more balanced.

I wouldn't pay 500 dollars for either of those, especially considering they have visible scuffs and rusted screw with the slots torn up, and non-original grips. That's a really unreasonable price for those guns.

I'd be paying exactly as much (or more) for the exact same gun in the exact same condition from an auction site after shipping, tax, and FFL fees

Yournamehere 03-09-2012 09:14 AM

You could find one in better condition though with original grips at least, and unless you pay around 100 bucks for all the fees, then no, you'd come out at maybe 400 or so. Take a look on gunbroker.

SPEMack618 03-09-2012 02:05 PM

Collectorism(is that even a word?) aside, I would want the Model 10 over the 39 simply because I know that I would go out and do things with my Model 10, such as I do now.

Back up hog gun, snake gun, secondary night stand gun, girlfriend loaners, etc. etc.

k9870 03-09-2012 07:25 PM

Almost done with mass effect going to launch the main attack tonight. Epic game.

k9870 03-11-2012 12:22 AM

A truly awesome game, a 10/10,just got a 7/10 from me after the endings. Just terrible, we really need a dlc that fixes this crap.

S&Wshooter 03-14-2012 09:28 PM

Why does this gun have three flashlights?

Rockwolf66 03-15-2012 05:52 AM

Don't worry I've been doing things like this:

It's my second render and the program taxes my new Frankenputer to it's limits already. I can only hope that I can render 50 commissions in the next year or so.

Is it the fact that nobody cares about what they have in common?

Spartan198 03-17-2012 04:08 AM

They both know I'm the most awesome man in the universe?

BlackIce_GTS 03-18-2012 12:05 AM

I can only assume they have the same voice actor.
...
and they do!
I thought he did a really good job in JLU, but I can't say I've ever made note of Mr. Krabs before.

S&Wshooter 03-18-2012 03:14 AM

I've been working on the same 5 page Art History paper for a week. It may be the most boring paper I have ever had to write in my entire life

SPEMack618 03-21-2012 11:25 PM

Hey guys, got caught up in midterms and spring break, in which apparently, in addition to several rounds of golf and going to disney world, I indulged in a hefty quanity of cheap beer.

Just posted a new part of "G-Men", hope you guys like it.

S&Wshooter 03-29-2012 02:41 AM

I took a look at the Resident Evil wiki to read up on the new Operation Racoon City game, and noticed something I thought was interesting about one of the player characters, Lawrence Kimbala

The wiki lists his date of birth as somewhere around 1970, and his birthplace as Zimbabwe. Since Zimbabwe was Rhodesia in 1970, this may mean that this character could be the first (technically) Rhodesian character in a video game
