It got cold, fast. Last week's average low was about 85, but this week that's the average high.

That's the low. It's pretty early for it to be getting cold though. Usually it's still pretty hot a few weeks into November

S&Wshooter 09-29-2010 11:52 AM

Swordfish has been reply to this thread for at least 10 minutes. I wonder what's taking him so long

Nevermind, he logged out

It got to 113 here the other day.

You like Huey Lewis and the News? Their early work was a little too New Wave for my taste, but when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor . . . In '87, Huey released this, Fore!, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Hip to Be Square", a song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, 'cause it's not just about the pleasures of conformity, or the importance of trends, it's also a personal statement about the band itself. Hey Paul! AHHHHH! *Murders Jared Leto with an axe* TRY GETTING A RESERVATION AT DORSIA NOW, YOU FUCKING STUPID BASTARD! YOU FUCKING BASTARD! *Hacks Leto with axe a few more times, then throws it down, calmly sits down on the sofa, takes out a cigar, and smokes it.*

When I first saw Die Hard, I thought the terrorist pretending to be the security guard was played by Huey Lewis.

Precalculus is starting to really get on my nerves

If I didn't have to give my friend a ride home, I'd be at home eating lunch by now

You can get a licence at 16, so it surprises me how many people in college had none, even the people in their 20s. And "no money" is a bad excuse, you can get a licence at 18 without drivers ed if you know what your doing.

My friend has a car (I usually ride with him) but his mom got in a wreck last week and totalled her car so she has to use his until tomorrow

Please excuse my old man rant, but here goes: I can't believe kids today don't get their licenses AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. We had an intern here who waited until she was 19, my cousin waited until he had already graduated from high school, and my co-worker's son didn't get it until a few weeks ago, and he's 20! When I was in HS, people actually had their folks SIGN THEM OUT OF SCHOOL EARLY on their birthdays to go to the DMV to do their test. It didn't matter if you had a car or not. It was just something you did. I don't know anyone I went to school with, male or female, that didn't get their licenses within a few days of turning 17. Kids today, with their long hair, rock and roll...

k9870 09-29-2010 06:12 PM

I think after high school you need especially for work

I believe we should make people wait at least one year longer and have them drive for more than the few hours required by Driver's Ed because, honestly, teen drivers SUCK

NJ has since raised the driving age to 18, but even before, if you got your permit at 16, you still had a year to practice.

Having a car is actually really expensive. Besides actually buying one, you have to get insurance and pay registration fees, there are gas and maintenance costs to consider. If you're not going to put up with all that, there's no reason to just have a license.

Artie Lange would make a hilarious Robert Paulson.

The whole point of the randomness thread is to isolate posts that don't belong anywhere else. Don't be bitter just because you're not in the spotlight anymore.

I really think you're incapable of following the flow of a conversation and that you just see everything I post as a non sequitur. I sincerely think there is something physiologically wrong with your brain.
