The Deer Gun.

I'm passing. Someone go ahead.

I don't know how obscure this really is, so here's a picture from a bad angle.
If no one gets it, I'll post a better one.

Nyles 02-20-2011 02:24 PM

Croatian RT-20 anti-tank rifle in 20 x 110mm Hispano.

Also, I don't think ersoz's was a Joslyn, it doesn't have the side-mounted hammer, and the Joslyn never had a spur trigger.

I'll come up with one in a bit.

Actually its a Josselyn Revolver.

Next up in the magazine:
https://7chan.org/w/src/125884701485.jpg

It was NOT a revolver.
You got the model name wrong.
It is a Josselyn " Chain gun". There is a big difference.
And, did you even google your answer?

Your answer was NOT correct.

Calm down, it's all good. I imagine it's called a Chain Gun because the loading belt looks like a bike chain?

I'm calm. That is the official name for it. Its inventor named it so in 1866.

ersoz 02-20-2011 11:50 PM

I made a mistake. The inventor did not name it a chain gun or anything else.

http://www.google.com/patents?id=qUU...page&q&f=false

My sincere apoligies. It is rather a common name given to this very specific handgun.
Having said so, in my opininon it is hard to define this handgun as a revolver as it lacks a cylinder.
Please forgive my interruption.

Yeah a chain gun if you're riding a horse and not a C130 gunship.;)

More accurately refered to as the Hall-North Model 1843, or just Hall Model 1843 (North just reduced the caliber), but yes.

Well I guess now it's my turn then. Can somebody ID these bloody submachine guns?!?! I've seen them in this film (The Marksman) as well as in low budget sci-fi movies like Anaconda 3.

It's like somebody put an Uzi and an MP5 together.

mpe2010 02-21-2011 05:50 AM

The movies were filmed in Romania so I figured that they might be Romanian but i cant find anything that looks like these do.

ersoz 02-21-2011 06:55 AM

Trigger guard and folding stock look like H&K. receiver seems like Uzi. I can't tell its caliber. Might be smaller than 9mm. And also I don't see a selector switch... Weird... As weird as seeing Wesley Snipes still getting work. :)

That looks close. The wikipedia entry for it mentions a civilian carbine version, and that a longer barrel can be installed in place of the shorter one.

I don't think so.

ersoz 02-21-2011 08:24 AM

I'm beginning to believe this gun does not exist. It's probably a hybrid movie gun.

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y45...s/prop-gun.jpg

I went through 100+ SMG manufacturers. Searched this thing in english, french, german and turkish and yet can't find anything. So, please, somebody enlighten us.

FIVETWOSEVEN 02-21-2011 03:55 PM

I was hoping someone would post this, I saw the movie aswell and the whole time I was trying to figure out what it was. Also some of the AKs in that movie looked strange.

Its definatly something thats mocked up.

Did they ever actually fire in the movie?

FIVETWOSEVEN 02-21-2011 06:34 PM

Yes they did unless shells ejecting and the muzzle flashes were CGI (Which I doubt).

funkychinaman 02-21-2011 07:53 PM

Apparently, it's called an Asalt-96. And it is from Romania.

Manufacturer's page:

mpe2010 02-21-2011 08:29 PM

Yay, the mystery is solved.

FIVETWOSEVEN 02-22-2011 03:58 PM

Oh it IS a real gun. Suprising that someone would make a gun like that.

Excalibur 02-22-2011 04:17 PM

I wonder who wants to make a page for The Marksman.

Not me, I'm waiting for SWAT Firefight to come out on Blu-ray so I can cap the possible Bushmaster ACR in it.

Gunmaster45 02-24-2011 12:54 AM

MPM told me he was going to make a page for it. I have it on DVD (unfortunately) but I figured he'd be better with it since there are lots of obscure AKs in it. Guess it fell off his priority list.

Me too. It just looks like an Uzi, but maybe slightly harder to reload. Maybe it's ergonomically better?

I guess I sort of won that one. Once again, I pass, and open the floor.

By a minute, wow. Go ahead.

ersoz 02-24-2011 03:36 AM

Ok..This one might seem easy but hopefully not that easy.

And here's a hint. Although over 10000 were produced, I don't think this weapon ever appeared in any movies.

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y45...curerifle5.jpg

I want the full name. Make and model please.

funkychinaman 02-24-2011 06:21 AM

Nope.

Haenel / Schmeiser MKb.42(H)

Hugo Schmeiser was the head of design department thus his name was included.
