I wasn't a particular fan of Shoot 'Em Up though, how the hell did they have the audacity to sneak in anti-gun themes to a shoot em up movie? That just pissed me off.

Claiming the second ammendment keeps our right to go deer-hunting with an Uzi is BS, hunting laws don't allow the use of an Uzi (and if they did, they'd only allow an all so useful five rounds).

Most of Hertz's quotes in the movie though were more on the gun enthusiast's side.

Same here.
*Though in Maryland the limit is 8 rounds for hunting.

Another personally made one. You'd think it was common sense to not throw your SKS into the air when it is fitted with a real bayonet:

There not sharpened, the drill team in basic used garands with bayonets.

And they threw them 10 ft in the air? A rifle weighing 8-10 lbs (the average for both the SKS and the Garand) fitted with a bayonet, even a dull one, is lethal when falling back down from that height.

not ten feet, above there heads though. Its 9.8 lbs. They do a thing where they twist it overhead and catch it. This pic here looks very bad if you didnt see the drill yprself to know whats going on....

Well I know the Garand is ~ 9.5lbs, but I was averaging with both the SKS and the Garand.

Thank you for correcting me on the matter, but you killed the joke... :( :D

The first time I held a garand, I almost dropped it because I wasn't expecting the weight. Before that, I've held modern assault rifles and got used to the weight.

Gunmaster45 06-28-2009 03:28 AM

I expected it to be heavy because nothing with that much wood and metal is featherlight.

Then add a little lead to the barrel to make it inoperabl;e and a bayonet and a sling. Well over 10 lbs. Its 9.8 without sling and bayo.
