Money's tight now, but After my class A school, i plan to purchase a couple more. My plan:

Savage 93r17 bv , laminate stock bull barrel 17hmr.
Learn using scopes, and have a cartrifge for varminting.

Benelli Nova Tactical-
Need a higer quality shotgun, the finish on the 870 express rusts too easy, so ill just have it as a beater range/field gun.

Later in the year, after xmas, Im thinking of a reminton 700 sps varmint and building it up over time when more money comes in, like a new stock, jewell trigger, etc.

Wondering what you think?

i'd settle for a .22 if your learning how to use scopes. i was taught on a .22, then they bumped me up to a .30-06. a mossberg might also be a good, mildly inexpensive choice if you're looking for a good shotty. but then again, you cant beat a good Winchester. lol

For learning to shoot scopes the only real advantage a .22 has over .17 hmr is price and prevalence. The .17 hmr is going to be more accurate at longer ranges then the .22lr. I learned to shoot scopes on a .22lr and both rounds are good at what they do. In my opinion they serve different purposes. Recoil won't be a problem with either round so no advantage there. I'm not saying the .17 is better then the .22, all I'm really saying is if a .17hmr is what you want, then by all means go for it.

I already own a .22, wnat to keep it iron sighted. I also want a new caliber to play with. Never liked mossberg shotguns.

I also want to go savage on the rimfire, I love my mark2g w/ accutrigger. I think everyone should own one, eats any ammo, hits dead center and never fails.
