Well since this weapon can't be shouldered, it loses all practicallity since shooting from the hip never works well.

And putting a sound suppressor on an LMG is stupid, the biggest point of an LMG is suppressive fire, and people don't duck their head down as much if they don't hear the rounds being fired...

Well back in the day the Machine gun was pretty useful for mowing down those Human Wave attacks.

Not necessarily, there's a local company that makes supressors for the C9. Generally the rounds impacting the ground / troops are going to be what puts them on the ground, not the noise. We're trained to "react to effective enemy fire", the key word there being effective. And the nice thing about a supressor is it conceals the firing signature, and therefore position, of what is going to be the biggest target for return fire.

Not necessarily. You're not going for absolute silence, just to disguise it's location and more importantly prevent a big dust cloud.
